Questions we get a lot: Where do you go shooting?
Sedona is surrounded by the Coconino National Forest. Shooting is permitted on CNF land unless a fire ban is in effect do to dry conditions. Remember it’s the law in Arizona that you must tell law enforcement officers if you have a firearm in the car with you if you’re pulled over.
We generally go to a sand pit off of Beaverhead Flat Rd (Map). It’s popular and well known to locals. It has a high, sandy embankment to safely shoot into and is not near anything. To get there from the Village of Oak Creek, drive south on 179 a couple miles, go past the Ranger station and take a right on Beaverhead Flat. Climb up the hill and just before the top is a dirt road to the left. You’ll be able to see the area from the road. Rules are posted and if a fire ban is in effect they will usually post it up there. Please be safe, courteous and responsible when using firearms. Don’t be surprised if the Sheriff stops by to check on things. In the summer it’s a good idea to check with the Rangers for any restrictions.

Sedona Homes with a Swimming Pool
Finding a home in Sedona with a swimming pool can be difficult. Sedona typically has a rather shallow layer of soil on top of the sandstone bedrock. This makes it a bit more challenging (expensive) to put in a swimming pool. Although I’ve never seen water restrictions used in Sedona, some HOA’s do restrict the construction of swimming pools to conserve water. This is particularly evident in HOA’s that share a deep well for water.
When buying a Sedona home with a swimming pool, you’ll want to have it and the pool equipment inspected. Some home inspectors will do this for an additional fee or you can any of the local pool companies do an inspection. The trend now is towards salt water pools but both salt water and chlorine pools can be corrosive and harsh on equipment if it is not cared for properly.
How Long Does It Take To Sell a Home? Absorption Rate
How long does it take to sell a house? The statistic that reflects this is called the absorption rate.
Absorption rate is the rate at which homes sell in a given area during a given time period. Absorption rate is calculated by dividing the
number of sales in a given month by the number of available homes for sale. It is the inverse of months of supply.
This chart represents the current absorption rate for residential homes in Sedona Arizona. The chart updates automatically.
